Makati City

at the heart of Metro Manila, setting the pace of the country's economic,

cultural and political landscape.

What is the spiritual need of the city?

CONGESTED

This small cosmopolitan city is a choice of millions to live, work and play. It has a daytime population of close to 5 million. But during the weekends, the average density drops to less than 500,000. No wonder the city has a daily congestion problem.

While this is considered as either a serious problem or evidence of a fast-growing economy, we see this as a unique opportunity to reach people from different regions and nations with the Gospel so they can bring the same Gospel in their own culture.

CONTRADICTING

Consistent with its rich religious history and growing economic potential, Makati City is a place where the religious and secular, the rich and the poor, the local and foreign live and work in the same area, leading to a clash of lifestyles, mindsets, and worldviews.

CONSUMED

The fast pace of the city forces people to chase one moment after another and it leaves them empty. As people go to the city to consume what it provides, they leave with a feeling of being consumed.

These descriptions conclude a great physical and spiritual need of the city, a place considered to provide one of the lowest quality of life.

What the city ultimately needs is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
